Atlanta Female Circumcision Case Stirs Concern

There is a guy here in Atlanta on trial accused of performing a circumcision on his daughter when she was two years old. I've been keeping up with this case a little bit and I think that the guy is innocent or at the very least that the wife and her mother participated as well. The media reports that I have heard mention that the girl recalls the scene from when she was two years old while up on the stand and shows little or no emotion. She also recalls much detail about the situation yet when asked about other things of importance that occurred when she was two she cannot recall any memories of those things. Of course I would expect that anyone would remember that experience regardless of the age that it happened, but probably with less details and with other memories of that age of life as well. The Psychologists that have been on the stand during the trial state that it appears based on the behavior of the child on the stand that she has been clearly coached. That is why I think that the mother and the grandmother at least participated in the event and now they are blaming the father in order to gain custody of the child. The father has continously cried in court and the mother and grandmother have been completely emotionless which seems odd to me. It is odd for a man to cry at all let alone in public and in my experience men from his region of the world don't readily show weakness such as crying lest they be at a funeral or something. I haven't heard anything about whether or not anyone has taken lie detector tests but whether it is admissable in court or not I think they should have to take one. The whole story is appalling no matter who did it but for some reason I don't get the feeling the whole truth has been told by the mother and grandmother in this particular case. I think that no matter who is guilty of this crime that the punishment should be equivalent to the crime. Unfortunately we have laws about cruel and unusual punishment in this country. Chime in with your thoughts on this and tell me what you think.

Archie and Cosmo

At Archie and Cosmo's house again. All is well here I can hear the little licking sounds of a cat's rough tongue on a bowl of yummy cat food. No one has come by yet to do any trick or treating. I don't know if they will by the time I leave but if they do Archie/Cosmo and I will hand it out to the little Ghouls and Goblins that sneak past the door. I Can't wait until I have a house of my own so I can pass out candy to the mini humans in my neighborhood. Who knows though by that time I may not be able to pass out candy to kids with all the paranoia going around these days. Archie and Cosmo are both running around playing and chasing each other. I think it is because the weather is getting colder and little fuzzy creatures seem more frisky during cold weather.

Archie and Cosmo check in

Ok third time I've tried to publish this stuff about Arch and Cozz. Archie is fine he is calmed down since yesterday when he was running around the house chasing Cosmo around and then chasing various objects around and playing with me. The two of them have been playing together today and they both have been really snuggly with me and each other a little too. Archie was curious about what in the world I was doing when I was scooping the litterbox today as if he'd never seen the litter box in his little pink nosed life. All is well in the Arch and Cos homefront today.

Did you know?

Some people think these are creepy facts about JFK and Lincoln in history.

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846 - JFK was elected to Congress in 1946.
Abe was elected President in 1860 - JFK was elected President in 1960.
Both were particularly concerned with civil rights - Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday - Both Presidents were shot in the head

Now it gets weirder.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy - Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.
Both were assassinated by southerners - Both were succeeded by southerners name Johnson.
Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808 - Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839 - Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939.
Both assassins were known by their three names - Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Ok now it gets even weirder.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford' - Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford'
Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse - Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and assassin ran and hid in a theater.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials

And now weirder.

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland - A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

Oooh Freaky - Thought I'd do a special freaky blog entry for Halloween. Hope you all had fun reading it.

Another Check-in

Hello everyone. I for some reason have not been able to get on the internet the last few days to do updates on my blog. I guess it relates to the rain and the fact that I am sneaking a signal for my wireless from somewhere outside my home half the time. Some of my clients have offered to give me their passwords during the time I am at their house so that I can use their wireless while at their houses. Right now I am hanging out with Archie and Cosmo and in about an hour and 45 minutes I'll head home to try to clean some laundry and do my hair(which takes sometimes 4 hours). For now I'll play with Archie since he is running sprints around the house right now and acting like he's hyper. I have a cold and I have to go to work tomorrow so life sucks since I'm not a lottery winner. I saw a story on the news here in Atlanta about one of the Ford worker who got screwed out of his job and ended up winning $225,000 on a scratch off ticket his last day of work. Too bad that didn't happen to the various clients I have who got screwed out of their jobs at Colonial Pipeline when the oil industry is booming.
I stole a little stubby coke from Archie and Cosmo's refridgerator. Hopefully their mom doesn't mind. I guess I'll have to ask her therefore confessing to my theivery. Anyway it's good to be back on line. I have included some links in my blog so that I could practice putting them in without the entire address showing. You don't have to look at them of course but if any of you finds a link that doesn't work let me know so I can learn how to fix it.

Petsitting Check In

Today I'm hanging out with Archie and Cosmo. They live kinda far from me but the trip is worth it to see their soft, fuzzie, cute little kitty cat smiles. They always greet me at the door as soon as I arrive. The little fluffies asked me to watch TV with them today so Archie is on the back of the chair with me and Cosmo ran off into another room. I think I must be boring since all they seem to do is sleep when I'm around.

Petsitting Check-in

I just asked Hugo what he thinks about the press conference with Bush and he snored. When I woke him up he just looked at me like I was crazy and asked for a massage. When I asked Bea she looked at me and asked for a massage as well. After I gave her one she said she'd come in to the living room and veiw the conference but then she looked at her little catnip cigar and got distracted and high so even though she said Bush was cool I'm not sure if I should believe her. It seems she's joined Rush in the cigar smoking, drug addicts who support Bush campaign. I'll confront her on it when she comes off her catnip high and let you know what she says.

Live Presidential News Conference

Hey all. I am watching Bush talk about Iraq on TV in a live press conference. I'm not sure why he is doing it. It's not like he can get voted in again by a dangling chad or anything. Let me quote him for you.

"blah, blah, blah, Iraq. Political solution blah, blah, blah. Bringing people in Iraq together blah, blah, blah. Resolve difficult issue dividing the country of Iraq blah, blah, blah. Ammending the Iraqi constitution blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah, midst of raging conflict. Blah, blah, blah pressing Iraq leaders to take bold steps to strengthen it's government. Americans will support the war as long as they see a path to victory blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah just because the fighting is tuff does not mean it is not worth it. Blah, blah, blah I know Americans are not satisfied with what is going on in Iraq - and I'm not either. Don't fall prey to sophisticated propaganda by the enemy blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah I owe it to the children who won't see mom and dad again to insure that their sacrifices were not in vain. Blah, blah, blah the cause is necessary and just.

Again I ask what is the point? Whether he is right or wrong what is the point? Who benefits from him trying to explain himself? It reminds me of how Oprah and her girlfriend announced that they weren't gay. I say if you aren't gay you aren't gay but if you are and you don't want people to know about it then you may want to make a big stink about it and have a stupid little press conference about it cause you're afraid someone really knows that you're a homo. To Bush I say get over it and put "The People's Court" back on.

Limbaugh says Michael J. Fox exploited his disease

First let me preface this whole thing by saying that I am neutral on whether or not I like Limbaugh. I sometimes agree with his opinion and sometimes don't and it may be around 50/50 if I narrowed it all down. By no means am I writing this because I am one of those fanatical Rush haters nor am I a fanatical Rush lover. I think because I am neutral it enables me to have an actual opinion instead of having an opinion that is the same or opposite of Rush's depending on my support of him or my political party. He is a controversial man who's supporters are likely to not be open to an opinion that opposes him so I thought there was a need to preface with the above comments.
Fox appeared in a political ad supporting Claire McCaskill because of her support of stem cell research. Fox supports stem cell research because he believes it may help the progress of research for a cure for his disease (Parkinson's). After his appearance in the ad Limbaugh said Fox "was either off his medication or acting" while bouncing around to mimic Fox's actions and he also said "I think this is exploitive in a way that's unbecoming of either Claire McCaskill or Michael J. Fox."
When I read Rush's comment I thought to myself "this from a guy who is a drug addict who whined about his addiction calling it a disease and giving excuses for himself....How odd that he feels like he's not a hypocrite with his statements against people exploiting their own issues to their own or someone else's benefit....or with his criticisms of all imperfections in anyone who is not a Republican though they all have many of the issues that he himself has...is this not the pot calling the kettle black?" I wondered to myself "is it right for people who are having such major issues of their own to be the moral measuring stick for our leaders?" I suppose it is somewhat alright. I mean, we all have issues some worse than others yet we pick and choose who we vote on and who we don't based on at least some (if not all) of those issues. In fact, the people we have voted into office and the state of our country today is a measurement of our own issues really so we have nothing to complain about until we fix our own issues I guess. Where I do have issue though, is with Rush complaining and criticizing people who are in the same position as he is save that he had a choice when he was out of his mind on drugs. What I really meant though is that he is just some celebrity who has his own issues and an opinion on politics. The only difference between him and other celebrities really is 1) he isn't seen on the red carpet and at all the parties or in some porn flick with Paris Hilton etc. and 2) he criticizes people all day long as opposed to the majority of other celebrities who choose various other useless and pointless things to do. Any way the point of all this is that Rush is an ass for criticizing another person's crutch and then crying about his own in an exploitive way. I give 4 stars to Rush for his major wahhhhhhh about someone other than himself exploiting their issues for political purposes and for "acting" like his own issues don't exist and weren't exploited. Kudos Rush for picking on the little handicap kid who's drugs were at least legally prescribed.

John Mark Karr Back in Atlanta

I am worried for this guy. He's totally a nut and I suppose what ever happens is whatever happens but I'm thinking he should get himself a body guard because he's in for some hard times walking around free. He's said too much to keep himself safe and doesn't seem to care. Keep track of your little girls cause this dude is on the loose. To make things worse he is contemplating a sex change operation. Why? Because it's easier to trust a woman around your kids than a man, it's easier to get a job as a nanny if you are a woman who isn't recognized as a known child predator who just hasn't been caught yet, statistics show there are less women child molesters but experts suspect it is because women are the caregivers and there is no one else for the child to come to for help. Dangerous dude on the loose who may get his ass beat cause he just doesn't know any better. As illegal as it may be I wouldn't get mad at the residents of his neighborhood if they formed a John Karr watch and surveiled his butt no matter where he goes.

Reality TV

Has anyone seen the Gene Simmons Family Jewels show? I'm wondering how Ozzie and Gene ever got these frickin reality shows. I sat tonight and watched this show with Gene Simmons. It was pointless. He just lives life like most men. He walks around, eats, talks yada yada yada and thinks he's impressive when in reality he's only impressive to other men who are interested in being big losers. The only difference between him and the other loser men like him is that he's managed to make some money off of his ego, greed, exploitation of women, and general uselessness. Again I am jealous of a celebrity. I'm only jealous of the ones who become famous and then manage to do nothing with their lives after that or the ones who are famous for something that nearly any one could do. Wahh Wahh Wahh

David Spade is a nut

David Spade is a nut and I am totally jealous. How does some little skinny, nerd of a man make millions of dollars for simply being funny. And that is questionable on occasion. He constantly does these stupid movies with stupid comedy and ends up getting the girl in the end. In his real life he seems to be hanging with hot chicks as well. What's up?!!? I'm funny..... I'm nerdy..... I'm not skinny but neither was Farley. Why am I not making millions for this? Someone please help.!!!!

Petsitting Check-In

I'm hanging with Hugo and Bea. I've been here a while now watching Prison Break and waiting for Heroes to come on. These are my two favorite Monday shows. Hugo doesn't seem to care what we watch and Bea doesn't usually like television so I am good to go for the night. It is colder out than it has been for a while in Atlanta. It is 44 degrees out right now and Bea still begs to go out. She's kinda funny cause she'll go out to the porch to get some air and then she comes right back in because it's so cold. She runs straight to the heat vent and then when the heat vent turns off she runs back outside. I finally shut the door so they won't go in and out cause it's too cold for me to handle. She hasn't begged to go out again so I assume it's too cold for her to handle as well. These little furballs can be fun to watch. They each have their own little personalities. Winnie and Mary Lou's mom is getting home tonight so I am done with a one month stint with them. I'll be all week with Hugo and Bea and have the weekend off before coming back again. I'm thankful that I have work and I hope for more to continue coming cause I'm tring to get out from under if ya know what I mean.

Bosses Can Affect Your Health

I was reading a book today about bad boss behavior. The book mentions multiple studies that link negative boss behavior to health issues through the stress that their behavior causes. The book said that "Bosses' cruelty adversely affects employees' iniative, commitment, motivation, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and productivity and may also be implicated in the occurrence of headaches, heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disturbances, dermatalogical problems, sexual dysfunction, and even murder." At first I thought this sounds to me like a lot of people just being big, wimpy babies. As I read the book further and actually read some of the stories in it about things bosses have said and done to their employees on a daily basis I'm not so sure they are being babies. I used to work for a guy who would get mad when things weren't going his way and start throwing a fit like a baby. He would say rude things to people and then send nasty little emails all written in red, bold letters accusing them of things that they didn't even do. He would threaten people and their jobs and in the end he'd find that he was wrong and there was no one to blame for things not going his way(though he and his supporters would never admit that). None of that is such a big deal when it happens to one person here and there, but the managers directly below him had to deal with the wrath which came from all of the employees when "baby boss" went on his rampage. These people had to deal with employees filing complaints, quitting, reacting in ways that got them fired. After that the managers were left with bigger work loads for themselves and no extra time or pay with which to complete all this work. Then they had to deal with the boss acting nutty toward them. One of those managers used to tell me all the time "that's just how he is and he doesn't mean anything by it." She is sick all the time now and has all sorts of cancer and bladder related issues and still can't even get a moment to herself to simply sleep or simply go on a date. I hope she realizes some day the stress her job causes to her already weakened immune system. It's a good thing that guy comes from a culture where his wife has to respect him as a man even though his body is the only manly thing about him. Cause most of the women I know wouldn't put up with a man who acts like a teen-ager or college boy without a fight and eventual divorce. I know this guy keeps em busy on Shab-e-Barat every year.

Cynthia Nixon in Relationship with a Woman

I had to post this story. I heard it on the radio and mentioned it to my girlfriend. We had a whole discussion about it and couldn't decide how many kids Ms. Nixon had. After I heard the story I heard nothing more about it and my girlfriend and I are now curious what the story is all about as we are avid "Sex in the City" fans. Apparently the original story arrived on the scene in 2004 but she never said anything about it other than she was happy.
Now last month she actually just came out of the closet. She says she did it because she wanted people to stop chasing her around and wondering about it now that she and her girlfriend have moved in together. As soon as she stopped hiding it people stopped camping out and stalking them for pictures.
Here is an article which has a picture of Cynthia's girlfriend. After seeing the pic I realize there is actually a chance for that affair I am trying to have with Janet Jackson after all cause it is definitely one of those cases that the stereotypical American would look and say "how did she get her?" So when I meet Janet I can bring this up as a part of my argument for why she should get with me. Looks aren't everything and I'm hoping when Janet is interviewed about us afterward she says "I did it for the nookie". I could accept that and I know my girlfriend would be ok with it since she's on my gimme list. What do you guys think?

Petsitting check-in

Hello you guys. I slept in this morning and so now I'm up late and can't sleep. Of course the little fuzzmeisters that I am petsitting for are sleeping just fine. Sometimes I wish I was a cat. I could sleep all day and watch TV with my owner or my sitter and get free food in exchange for being cute and fuzzy. I wouldn't have to pay rent and I could get out of cleaning house. What better situation is there?
I had a pretty boring day just taking care of fuzzy creatures. I did a few errands and then picked my girlfriend up from work. I hate the people she works for. They are doing all sorts of race related B.S. and I know they are going to dig themselves a hole sooner or later.
I'm learning blogging with this daily report that I'm doing. Eventually maybe I'll get everything figured out and I can say something more in depth. In the mean time bear with me.

Evil Employers

I wanted to ask you all some advice for a co-worker of mine. She was pregnant and has had her baby. Now that she is on her Maternity Leave the owners of our company called her and asked her to sign termination papers so that they could terminate her employment. They told her that she would also be signing re-instatement papers with a re-hire date. They said if she didn't do this that she'd have to pay the fees to re-imburse the company for what they had to pay in order to keep her as an employee during the time she was out. This sounds fishy to me. As far as I knew Georgia law requires that you keep people on leave as employees and give them Maternity leave even if it's not paid leave and the only requirement is that they be an employee. I checked federal law as well and found that the Civil Rights Act had an amendment added to it in 1978 requiring that you had to continue employee benefits and employment.
I read the whole thing and there was not one part which stated anything about a time limit of being an employee. Our company told my co-worker that if she had not been an employee for at least a year that they didn't have to pay for the fees of keeping you as an employee. If any of you know of some sort of law or clause stating this one year employement requirement let me know. I found one website just now which mentioned the Family Medical Leave Act and said that your employer doesn't even have to give you maternity leave if you haven't been there a year. The thing is this company did give my co-worker leave so I would think that logically they should be obligated to provide insurance during that time without re-imbursement. The law says they have to do that for employees on maternity leave if they allowed them to take the leave. If they don't allow you to take the leave they have that option unless you have been an employee for at least a year.
Let me know if you guys find out/know anything.

Hello to all my friends and those few family not afraid of reality. As you all know by now I just now got back into the technological era. I have jumped in with both feet so get ready for the crazy ride. I will be learning as I go with blogging and myspace and jobsearching and spelling and punctuation and run on sentences and dealing with the loonies who post comments. blah blah blah. Anyway welcome me to the blog world I look forward to what you all have to say.

Daily Check-In

I am sitting right now with Hugo and Bea while I type some of my first blog entries. Hugo is a big black diabetic cat. Bea is a cute chubby little arthritic calico with cute little chirp of a meow. Hugo is more of a howler of late due to his diabetes issues. He is snoring in the chair next to where I am sitting. This is the exciting life of a petsitter. Awake into the night watching cable TV with someone fuzzy. It is the greatest life ever. And most fun of all is watching my little pet clients roam around and do their thing. I've discovered that the little fuzzies tend to take on the personalities of their owners. I wonder now that I think of it if Hugo's owner has any issues with snoring or howling after using the bathroom? It may be weird if i ask her I suppose.
